Scheduled Queries

Has anyone found a way to have a query automatically run and email the results everyday?

Our sales teams wants to see what orders have been shipped for the previous 7 days and have it in their email each morning.  I have written the query, but haven't figured out how to have it automatically execute and send.

They also want a report that shows their bookings for the Month to Date and they want that emailed every Monday morning to them.   I haven't been able to find anything that is real good from a Sales person perspective in existing reports.  Has anyone written anything?

    Ellen,

Have you tried creating an alert for your query? The limitation is that someone would have to be logged in for the alert to execute, but if you know that you are in it 5 days a week at 9AM you could set it at that time and then schedule to have it emailed to a user's email address.

I would recommend setting up an email group like sales@brewery.com and associating that to a user in your system for the email delivery.

    Thanks,

    Conner

Can you explain further on the email group? I am familiar with setting up email groups for business partners.  I also tested the alert using my userid, and that works.

If I have several people in the sales team, how to I email it to all of them without first sending it to me and then having to forward it?  Not everyone on the sales teams has a userid, most just are using a mobile CRM user.

    Sure thing Ellen,

So within the 'Users' function (Admin → Setup → Users) you can set an email address for each user. It sounds like its already setup for you. I would have whoever is in charge of your email setup a group in Gmail or O365 for your sales team. Then find a user in that list and just plug that group email address in there.

Now when you set the alert, tag that user and it will send the email out.

Just to be clear, the email group creation would be done on your email side (gmail / office365 / microsoft exchange), not within Orchestrated.

    Ellen,

Could you so kindly share this query?  It sounds like a great option for our sales team to receive such data considering they are not orchestrated users.

    Thank you so much.
