Throughout Orchestrated you might notice a field titled "Available to Promise." Most commonly, it is seen on sales documents.
The field is a User-Defined Field created by Orchestra to go one step beyond the "Available" field created by SAP. The "Available" field is calculated by taking the In Stock quantity and subtracting the "Committed" quantity and adding the "Ordered" quantity, it doesn't take dates in to consideration.
The Available to Promise field, on the other hand, considers dates so that when a sales document is being created the date, item and warehouse are used to calculate what is "Available to Promise." If the date is changed, for example, the field updates to show you what's available.
